Lyststedet Bellevue is located in a quiet and idyllic residential area, only 10 minutes drive from the city centre of Bergen .
As the name “Lyststedet Bellevue” indicates – with a beautiful view overlooking Bergen !
Established 1899, we are known as one of Bergen ’ s best restaurants- a reputation we strive to preserve.
Through four generations we have preserved the elegance and the charm of the house. The furniture, the colours and the small details, gives each room its special character.
Pleasant and professional staff ensures a good and personal service for you and your guests. With menus prepared with the best products, combined with good wines, we can ensure you an experience that you will never forget.
Lyststedet Bellevue is open all year, for private banquets only. Our elegant banqueting rooms are suitable for lunch, dinners and small receptions. Our capacity ranges from 10 to 225 persons. We need just one day’s notice to arrange an unforgettable event for you and your guests . This could be in connection with a conference, to celebrate a special day, or just simply to show your guests one of the best restaurants Bergen can offer!
From the day you make your reservation, we will be there for you, to guide you through the preparation of your gathering. We will give you advice about the menus, help you to select wines, and give advice about table settings, decorations and entertainment.
On the day of your gathering, our professional Maître d´hôtel will be there to welcome you and your guests, and assure you a smooth running of your event with a personal and first class qualified service.
Our menus are based on traditional and local specialities, based on fresh produce with a wide selection of fish and shellfish.
Mathilde's -dinner
One of our specialities is “ Mathilde's dinner ”. The name of this menu derived from Mathilde Jernstrøm, who together with her husband Erik Herman Jernstrøm opened Lyststedet Bellevue 1899.
This unique menu is based on a variety of dishes, which were served in the 1920s. The exclusiveness of these dishes display the distinguished elegance and show the best from old Bergen , as well as playing an important role in Bellevue ’s culinary heritage.

Fløien Folkerestaurant
A restaurant with a spectacular view!
At the top of the famous Funicular in Bergen , 320 meters above sea level, you will find Fløien Folkerestaurant - well above everyday life and the noise of the city.
The restaurant, opened in 1925, has been completely restored and is, with its distinctive architecture and prominent location, without a doubt an attraction in itself.

Fløien Folkerestaurant is a very popular restaurant, not only among tourists, but also for the locals. In the areas surrounding Fløien Folkerestaurant you will find charming roads running through exciting and varied nature with proud mountains, quiet woods and mountain lakes – as well as glimpses of the fabulous view overlooking Bergen and the coast.
Opening hours
Fløien Folkerestaurant features a Summer Restaurant open from May till mid September.
Here you can enjoy, every day from 11.00- 22.00, our “self service” café with a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and light meals.
At our large Outdoor Terrace you can enjoy the wonderful view over Bergen , while enjoying a light meal from the restaurant, or simply just enjoy the beautiful sunset on a late summer nigh with a cold refreshing drink…
At our high quality à la Carte restaurant, open from 17.00 – 22.00 every day, you can spoil yourself with a variety of dishes, prepared from first class produce, from our professional kitchen. We recommend that you make reservations as our à la carte restaurant is very popular on a light summer night...
During the Winter Season , our self service café will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00- 17.00. We serve hot chocolate, waffles, sandwiches and a very popular soup- buffet, that comes with home baked bread - eat as much as you can!
Our banquet facilities, which are open all year, have a capacity of 10 – 300 persons. Our professional staff welcomes you and your guests and assures you a first class product and service. Fløien Folkerestaurant provides rooms suitable for all kinds of receptions; weddings, business dinners, family gatherings and meeting facilities. For larger events we have a total capacity of 450 persons.

Fløien has always been a popular attraction with visitors to Bergen , and Fløien Folkerestaurant a natural place to visit. Bryggen Tracteursted
on historic Grounds in Bergen !
Bryggen - the Wharf in Bergen is known worldwide as one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, the centre of historical Bergen and a must for any visitor to Bergen .
In the middle of Bryggen you will find Bryggen Tracteursted – reopened - with respect for its historical surroundings and with an ambition to restore its reputation as one of Bergen ’s quality restaurants.
Bryggen Tracteursted consists of “Schøtstuen” - the Assembly Room, the Firehouse - representing the kitchen and in the back the Stable and the Hayloft.
Svensgårdens Schøtstue - anno 1708 - is listed and the only one left in its original location. The word Schøtstue comes from “skytningsstova” the place where you shared your food with others..
At Bryggen Tracteursted you will find a modern kitchen inspired by the traditions from Bergen and Hanseatic cooking.
Opening Hours
During the Summer Season (Easter – mid September), Bryggen Tracteursted offers light meals in the Tap room on the ground floor and an intimate Open Air Restaurant in the back yard, open everyday from 11.00- 22.00. Our à la Carte Restaurant is open from 17.00- 22.00. Reservations are recommended.
During the Winter Season (mid September- Easter) we open the à la carte restaurant Tuesday- Saturday from 17.00- 22.00.
Throughout the whole year Bryggen Tracteursted is available for private banquets.
Hanseatic Evening
In cooperation with Bergen Byspill we are proud to invite you and your guests to enter the world of the Hanseatic period.
For groups from 30- 60 persons we offer an unforgettable hanseatic evening in cooperation with Bergen Byspill. Through music, song and theatre performances your guest will learn about the history of Bergen, and the everyday life at the Wharf in the years of the 1500s. With a delicious dinner, inspired by Hanseatic food traditions, this will be a memorable part of your stay in Bergen!
